There is so much I could say about Jeanne Rose and her studies courses, so I will probably write more blogs on the subject in the future. You can tell by the picture that my book is well worn with many markers for some favorite pages. For now I just want to talk about the requirements and elements of the Aromatherapy studies course.

First of all it was worth 160 continuing education credits for Registered Nurses through the California State Board of Nursing. If you knew how hard it is to get programs approved through state boards of nursing that alone would impress you!

The requirements for the course consisted of a combination of home study modules, submission of scholarly research papers, home experiments using the essential oils, developing essential oil blends, and more. In addition, it was required to attend in person seminars that Jeanne conducted. She called the seminars Aromatherapy Intensives. They were so much fun and so interesting and a lot of work!

I attended one intensive in Port Clinton, Ohio. It was a three day intensive and covered botany, chemistry and some uses of essential oils. I really enjoyed that seminar. It was held at a church in downtown Port Clinton, near the lake. I have very fond memories of that experience. Other intensives I attended included one in Cincinnati, Ohio (where I lived at the time) and one in Chicago, Illinois. I will talk more about the one in Chicago in a later post since that experience was more about being in Chicago and what we did there.
