What is a Sacred Contract?

Because I devoted my career as a Registered Nurse to the field of psychiatry, I was very drawn to the work of Swiss psychologist Carl Jung. When Caroline Myss wrote her book Sacred Contracts I jumped at the chance to take her certification course. I loved every minute of it.

Caroline defines Sacred Contracts as "your overall relationship to your personal power and your spiritual power." Her course was all about discovering that contract and how to help others discover theirs.

In that process, you must first discover your personal 12 archetypes that follow you throughout your life and influence different aspects of your life.

Carl Jung was the first to define the nature and role of universal archetypes in human consciousness. Joseph Campbell was a disciple of Carl Jung and wrote extensively about archetypes in his book The Power of Myth.

I will give you some examples of archetypes, and when I mention them you will immediately envision what that archetype imbodies.

Here are a few: Mother, Knight, Clown, Queen, Jester

Through the process of discovering your Sacred Contracts you will identify your main 12 archetypes. We start out with 74 different archetypes and what they represent. It is a very interesting and eye opening process. I went through it and had my own surprises as well as moments where I thought, "Now I understand what has been happening in my life!"

Since I went through Caroline's certification program I can help you discover your Sacred Contracts. I can make arrangements to work with you through the process. If you are interested, fill out the information on the Contact page and I will get back to you.

Check back to this site as each week I will add more information about the archetypes and how they show up in our lives.
