A research article published in the journal Psychological Science compared a group of people walking in nature for 50 minutes with a group walking down a building lined city street. Mental skills were tested and compared. What was found is that those who walked in nature improved their short term memory by 20%. Those who walked down the city street had no improvement. They discovered that nature boosts the memory and concentration and has the same effects on the mind and body as meditation.
When was the last time you took a leasurely walk in nature? Call a friend, take a walk, it can raise your spirits and heal your soul!
